Be it a new house, a shop, or installation of power for a commercial unit-the whole process has become more transparent, systematic, and less time-consuming, provided one knows the right steps.
Application Procedure
Getting a new electricity connection in AJK involves a few simple steps. Follow this guide to ensure a smooth application process.
What is AJK
Step 1: Application Form
Obtain the application form from your local SDO office or download it online. Fill it with accurate details.
Step 2: Documents
Attach required documents: CNIC copy, proof of ownership (Registry/Fard), and an affidavit.
Step 3: Site Verification
An inspector will visit your premises to verify the location and determine the load requirements.
Step 4: Demand Notice
Pay the issued Demand Notice at the designated bank. Submit the receipt to the office.

- Proof of Ownership (Registry, Fard, or Allotment Letter)
- Affidavit on Stamp Paper (undertaking no arrears)
- Neighbor's Electricity Bill Copy (for reference)
- Wiring Test Report (from authorized electrician)
- Written undertaking (no illegal or kunda connection)
For Commercial / Industrial
- Business registration papers
- NTN (if applicable)
- Authorization letter if applying through a representative
- Visit the AJK Electricity Department’s official website.
- Go to the “New Connection” section.
- Fill in the application form very carefully.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents.
- Choose your connection type (Domestic, Commercial, etc.)
- Submit the form and note down your tracking ID.
- AJKED will verify, then send you a Demand Notice.
- Pay it at any designated bank.
- After payment verification, the team will install your meter.
- Visit your local Subdivision Office.
- Ask for the New Connection Form
- Fill all fields clearly (name, CNIC, load, address etc.).
- Attach all required documents.
- Submit the file and wait for inspection.
- Once the inspection is complete, you will receive a Demand Notice.
- Pay the amount in the bank.
- After payment proof, the meter will be installed.
